Thursday, April 19th from 6:30-8:00 pm for ages 16 and up. Participants will be creating Yarn Art inspired by the yarn paintings of the Huichol people of Mexico. The Huichol are famous for their "yarn paintings"- small tablets covered with a mixture of beeswax and pine resin into which threads of yarn are pressed. These paintings are brilliantly colored designs featuring spiritual ideas about themselves-they typically include likenesses of animals, birds, plants and people. We will be using canvas board, yarn and white glue to create our paintings. This event is free and materials are provided. Preregistration is required to attend.
