Senior Center Phase 2 - Slow Re-Opening
Press Release - June 11, 2020
LEBANON SENIOR CENTER PHASE 2 - SLOW RE-OPENING:
Linn County was recently approved to enter into Phase II, which allows more restrictions to be lifted. We have been following Governor Brown’s orders, CDC (Center for Disease Control) guidelines, NCOA (National Council on Aging) guidelines, as well as working with local health authorities to determine the best course of action for a slow re-opening. We are thrilled to be in Phase II but will be cautious with re-opening since seniors are in a higher risk category and can develop more severe symptoms if they were to get the virus. We thank you for your patience as we continue to monitor the current situation and slowly add programming back in a responsible manner.
The last couple of months we have been shifting programming efforts by offering classes, groups and activities through Zoom, YouTube and Facebook, which we’ll continue as we move forward. We are happy to help walk you through the process to participate through these online platforms.
At this time, our building will continue to be locked and only opened for the limited classes and groups scheduled. We are available by phone, Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
As of June 11th, we will be allowing one-on-one services, by appointment, which include foot care and reflexology, tech time, and more. We have cleaning protocols in place, following social distancing guidelines and have masks available for those who don’t have them.
Starting the week of July 6th, we will offer some outdoor exercise classes and other small groups, with a maximum of 10 participants per class. We’ll follow up with a detailed schedule as we get closer to that date.
We will continue with our grocery and prescription pick-ups for our senior population and those whose immune systems are compromised. We are also continuing with our Friendship Phone Brigade reaching out to seniors in our community, by phone, once or twice a week to chat and check in.
Follow the Lebanon Senior Center on Facebook, for the most up to date information, class schedules and information sharing.
We are all in this together and are working to ensure the safety of our guests as we begin providing in-person services once again. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we move through the slow reopening. Please contact the Lebanon Senior Center at 541.258.4919 for more information on any of our programs and with any other concern or assistance you or a neighbor might need.
We look forward to seeing you again soon!
