Senior Center Resource Highlights
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PRESS RELEASE - March 26, 2020 11:00 a.m.
LEBANON SENIOR CENTER RESOURCE HIGHLIGHTS
During the COVID-19 health crisis, the Lebanon Senior Center has begun offering several resources to help make this time a bit easier on our senior population.
The Lebanon Senior Center (LSC) and Lebanon Police Department (LPD) are partnering to offer grocery and prescription pick-ups for our senior population and those whose immune systems are compromised. Dala Johnson, Community Policing Officer, and LPD volunteers, are helping the LSC to help seniors in our community to stay safe during this time.
A Friendship Phone Brigade has been formed to reach out to seniors in our community. The Lebanon Senior Center has a list compiled, but want to reach out to any and all who wish to receive a phone call once or twice a week from a friendly voice to chat and check in.
Some stores in town have special hours reserved for seniors to grocery shop. The following grocery stores have reserved hours for seniors and those with compromised immune systems:
Grocery Outlet: 6:00am to 7:00am, Monday through Sunday
Safeway: 7:00am to 9:00am, every Tuesday and Thursday
Walmart: 6:00am to 7:00am, every Tuesday, also offers free grocery pick-ups
Dollar Tree: 8:00am to 9:00am, Monday through Friday
If you need transportation support, the LINX Dial-a-Bus continues to be available, at no charge, for essential trips. Bus operations are currently Monday through Friday, from 7:30am to 5:00pm. Please call 541.258.4920 for ride arrangements.
Finally, follow the Lebanon Senior Center on Facebook, for some interactive classes and information sharing. Our hope is to continue with some programming in the comfort of your own home, including fitness and stretching clips, meal prep ideas, brain games, and more!
Please contact the Lebanon Senior Center at 541.258.4919 to schedule a grocery or prescription pick-up, to be included in the Friendship Phone Brigade, get up to date information on special store hours reserved for seniors and with any other concern or assistance a senior might need.
